“What’s in store for the Philadelphia Life Sciences Industry in 2017” Event Re-cap

papers from the event: agenda and newsletter

On January 27th, we attended the Life Sciences Executive Network event hosted by The Sarian Group. This event highlighted “What’s in Store for the Philadelphia Life Sciences Industry in 2017?” Several local life science companies gathered to discuss a few key topics about life science business and trends in 2017. The discussion facilitator was Josh Riegelhaupt, Ph.D, a Healthcare Research Analyst at Baron Capital.

Josh lead a lively discussion about industry trends and how the new Republican administration will affect current and upcoming trends. We also dove into the concept whether large pharma has new technology in the pipeline or do they usually buy them. This is an interesting topic whether it’s easier to do in-house research or buy technology or companies that have already been developed. In addition, we discussed the changing environment between Pharma companies and device companies. Discussions lead to a variety of subjects ranging from human trials for cancer treatments to VC investments in the Philly area for BioTech companies.

Special thanks to The Sarian Group for hosting this event. Greg Sarian, the host of this event, spoke about planning ahead financially for your business. The Sarian Group specializes in a variety of wealth management and optimization.
