We learned “How to Talk to Money”!

 
This Tuesday, we were honored to have Steve Bowman, “The Pitch Doctor”, join us at AmpTech. The morning of January 24th, the room was alive and buzzing with entrepreneurs from a variety of industries (and even some investors!) who were ready to learn “How to Talk to Money”.

As the President of BizClarity, Steve specializes exclusively in coaching entrepreneurs to pitch to investors. He taught us how to find our company’s core story, the do’s and don’t’s of the “10 minute investor presentation”, and even worked on some interactive exercises where we got to pitch to other entrepreneurs in the room. We loved learning the five reasons why presentations fail, and why all entrepreneurs should “screen and be screened” when finding money.

As a cum laude graduate from Harvard College, Steve followed by earning his graduate study in finance, marketing, and commercial real estate at the University of North Carolina.
For ten years he specialized in commercial real estate deal structuring and syndication, and consulted for Prudential Real Estate to commercial brokerages across the country. He formed an NASD Broker-Dealer in 1984 to syndicate real estate investments.

Steve taught presentation skills and business communication for five years at The Wharton School and is currently an adjunct professor at Temple’s Fox School of Business. He’s also taught classes in business plan communication and presentation at Drexel University, and Penn Law School. He’s worked closely with all the major venture fairs in the Philadelphia area since 2002 to teach and coach presentations and help screen companies.
